Chicks Project


The 2011 Chicks Project has 12 bands/solo acts, 30 predominately high students and seven mentor volunteers from the Dunedin music industry involved. The Chicks Project 2011 has had nine events – a meet and greet, four workshops and four gigs, with 2010 seeing another fours and three more workshops/meetings.Workshops were held at the MalCam Trust hub on Princes Street on sound tech, performance and organisation, the music industry and DIY projects and effects pedals. These were run by seven mentor volunteers from the Dunedin music scene.

Although Volunteering Otago is unfortunately no longer able to continue to run the project they are very supportive of the project continuing. BUT! The future of the Chicks Project is looking positive with the Dunedin Fringe Arts Trust keen to keep the project running, funding dependent.
