Meals on Wheels provides a mid-day meal for those persons who are living at home and who, because of age, illness or disability, are unable to maintain their nutritional status.
Our aims are to enable clients to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.

Job Description

Collect and count meals from the collection point. Deliver in own car to all addresses on the list.  A route is given each day. Give named meals to specific persons. Return empty cartons to a collection point.

Days and Times Required
  • Monday – Friday 11:15 am (CBD)
  • Monday – Friday 11:30 am (South Dunedin)
  • Monday – Friday 12:15 am (Wakari Hospital)
  • Monday – Friday 11:30 pm (Green Island)

A meals on Wheels run takes approximately one hour to complete. Includes public holidays.

Special Considerations

All volunteers undergo application, interview and police vetting processes. You must know you can pass a full police vetting check, please refer to the NZ Police website for further information. Own car needed for deliveries. Safe driver. The car must be warranted and registered.
